Airbnb says it plans to prevent landlords from profiting off pandemic evictions

Airbnb is implementing a new policy to prevent landlords from exploiting its service and evading federal laws. Beginning Tuesday, the company will prohibit landlords from listing properties where they have evicted tenants for failure to pay rent in order to profit off short-term rentals during this public health crisis. Airbnb says it wants all renters that were protected under the moratorium on eviction with at least until year’s end before identifying their next step of action alongside cities across America who are trying not only to protect our rights but also more importantly save lives as well.
